In our 2nd show in the "TransLife in Australia" series, Anja visits the New South Wales Gender Centre in Sydney. This unique, state government-funded operation provides life-saving outreach, counceling, housing, and many other vital services to the transcommunity in New South Wales, as well as across Australia.

Anja speaks to it's reluctant founder-Author, activist, researcher, Professor and Doctor of Socialogy, Roberta Perkins about her work with transpeople and sex workers in the notorious red light district of Sydney, known as "King's Cross", and how her grass-roots activism led to the formation of one of the only Government funded Gender Centres in the world.

We also hear from Kate Green, an Australian transwoman, who is a resident of the Centre, and Elizabeth (Liz) Ceissman, the Senior Case Manager and Psychologist for the Centre.
